led values Answered

All i want is a list of led voltage and current values, you would think this a simple task, not so.They are few and far between and when you do find some they all contradict.

I wouldn't think its a simple task at all, it depends on colour, process, power rating and age to name 4 parameters. Why ever would you think it was simple ?

Second that !

If your looking for the Rosetta Stone of Led's, it does not Exist!

Your best bet will be a large online Electronic Components Distributor (Digi-key or Mouser)

Find the LED category and there will be a Massive list of stats that you can filter through. It may give you a better Idea

Why you think there are datasheets for electronics?

If for example all white LED's of same size and shape would be identical we would not need them.

You won't find any accurate lists, only general values depending on the color and power consumption, usually based on 12, 15 and 20mA.

Without a datasheet you can only measure the forward voltage and increase the amps till full brightness, which of course often results in premature failure due to overcurrent.

But even with the correct information I tend to feed less current to my LED's so they keep operating much longer, so I opt for extra bright LED's use them at a bit less current and still have enough brightness.
