mosfet similarity Answered

Hi, I am trying to build this,  but the mosfet is discontinued. Can I replace it with TK15J60U(F) and still have a working circuit?

A 600 Volt is overkill on a semiconductor ( 555 ) that is 18 Volt max.
The mosfet is miswired there is an intrinsic diode in every fet and
this fet has the diode set to conduct all the time.
In normal circumstances it is the source pin that goes to ground,
the common minus wire.

You should be able to use an IRF510 100 Volt 5 Amp mosfet.

Thank you, but with mouser I have to get 700. I am trying to use mouser because it makes my order easier with the other items I ordered. Can I use this similar one?

Yes.... But what are you doing about the FET error in wiring ?

I include a proper wiring of a MOSFET note the intrinsic diode.

If it isn't a secret, what is this circuit supposed to do ?

I am trying to build the desulfater that has a discontinued mosfet in the circuit digraph. Is the desulfater wired wrong or the circuit you are showing?

Here is your corrected MOSFET wiring...

I don't know about desultory circuits or theory
other then there is some clearing of finger like shorts
when a high voltage and energy pulse burns away the offending whiskers.

But then your circuit is drawing power to an IC from the same line
that gets high pulsed energy ? ! ?

And the fact that the FET was upside down does not speak well
for the function of the conglomeration..

My simulation in google sketch up failed.

Well, I can read it, my initial objection still applies.
and there is no indication if the inductors are on a
common magnetic ore separate cores ?

Thanks a lot you really are helpful with this stuff. I tried a different circuit and it worked https://www.circuitlab.com/circuit/n47wvv/desulfater-2/

I am trying to build the desulfater. I assumed the circuit is working.
