Connect the longer end of the LED to the +ve terminal of the battery and the shorter pin to the -ve terminal via a resistor if you are using a 9V battery a 1K resistor is fine.
Ohm's Law -> R = V/I. Input the voltage of you DC power source, divide by .02 A (20mA), that will tell you the resistor size you need in Ohms. Then wire everything in series end to end).
