please i want to know how the charger of the mobile phone or the iPad works ? Answered

i just want to know because today i forgot my iPad's charger i just had the wire but i forgot the plug(it's a usb charger ) but i had the plug of my mobile's charger which is samsung and i connect the wire of the iPad's charger to the plug of my phone's charger and put it in the power supply and it worked and the iPad started charging , so it's kinda weird for me .....so i want to know how that happened or why at least ...

USB is all the same (the U stands for universal). Five volts is five volts, whether it's going into a Samsung or an iPhad.

You've been lucky. Apple have played around with the USB specification, so they can pretend that "only" apple chargers will work.

They've done this by putting 4 extra resistors in the charger that lift the A and B data lines on the USB connector to something like half supply - though that varies with the phone model.

If you take a look at the MintyBoost project, those guys have it all worked out.

The electronics in the bit that plugs in to the wall is mostly the same. They both supply a voltage of ~5V, just like the USB port on your PC or laptop. The only difference between your Samsung and Apple charger is the lead that it came with to connect to your iPad.

+1, It may charger slower if the Samsung charger provides less current but it will be outputting the same 5V so it won't cause any problems.
