problem with pot and usb gamepad Answered

hi,
i try to attach a pot to a analog usb gamepad  in order to build a diy steering wheel for pc
when i enter to joystick propriété i get an unstable value of axis
like the curseur is floating 
what should i do??

What pins did you hook the potentiometer up to and what value was it? Do you have a pic or schematic of your setup? What kind of USB gamepad for what system?

i have a usb game joystick with analog pin

i have wired the 3 pins of potentiometer(10k) to the gamepad

when i plug the gamepad to pc and press switch on analog mode

and try to rotate pot i get an unstable value

the curseur is going up and down or forward and backward
