i made a set for my parents new house using copper finger bowls (different sizes from 1" diameter to 3") and some random copper wire (i think it's 8g grounding wire...who knows). it's not really a rain chain. it's basically a round wooden base with the wire coming out at random lengths, then a bowl at the other end of each wire. sort of like a flower arrangement. when the rain hits them they make neat noises, but they also get pushed around in the wind making them bang together and what not

not especially, considering i wasn't really looking for them when i found them. i got 2 sets of 6 bowls from "tuesday morning"

I couldn't find anything using rain chime - but I was able to find a couple with rain chain...; still looking for interesting ideas..
