repair a loose headphone jack Answered

I have a cheap mp3 player with a loose headphone jack in the body. Can/ does any one know if or how to fix it?

If your earbuds/headphones are good and you suspect a bad jack, you might be able to look in deep to see if the contacts are bent in the jack and straighten/clean them. Otherwise, you will need to open up your unit to see if it is a loose/bad wire/connection to resolder or replace the jack entirely. If that doesn't fix it, time to get another cheap mp3 player. Good luck.

Can't open the unit. Using magnifying glass, bright light and darning needle tried your suggestion. No joy. The thing is less than 2 months old and am too poor to buy another right away... Oh, well. Taping it in place is helping but aggravating. Thanks for your help.
