speaker setup for computer - beginner needs help Answered

Hi all, I am new to all this but I am keen to have a go at some kind of project. I was thinking of making my own speaker set up using some old speakers and then setting this up with a sound card in my computer. I would be ok fitting the sound card but do not have that much of a clue as regards to what speakers i could use or how to put them together. cheers- Muckster

This isn't really the best thing to start on if you have no background in DIY audio. Some considerations include: -number of drivers (two or three way) -active or passive crossovers and their cross frequency -ported or air sealed -amp type -ect....

Thanks for the reply. I was just after a cheap way of adding a better sound system for my computer, I suppose if it is that complicated I will be better just buying a ready made surround sound set up and card to match. Any ideas or recommendations?
