Putting an animal into stasisis typically done with cryogenics. You should know that freezing anything with moisture in it causes the moisture to expand, which can cause tissue damage in animals (read: can kill them). Also, freezing animals is insanely cruel and modern science has yet to successfully reanimate anything larger than insects.

That being said, putting insects into stasis is very easy and something we used to do as kids. Next sunny day find yourself a bee and capture it in a jar, then put jar into the freezer for about 30 minutes. Tip bee out of jar into sunlight, after a few minutes the bee will 'thaw' and mill around while it figures out what just happened. In about 5 minutes it should fly away.

If you're looking for something other than freezing, you can always hypnotize a lobster, which is sort of a stasis.

Anti-freeze will harm the specimen, and will not address the issue of expanding moisture in fat, soft tissue and organs.

When the professionals do cryogenics they do drain the body of most of it's fluids to give the best possible chance of reanimation. Bear in mind that cryogenics is easily a multimillion dollar enterprise.
