steel rod for K'nex 6ft Ferris Wheel Answered

I'm trying to build the K'nex 6'Ferris Wheel. Does anyone know where I can get hold of the steel rod for this Ferris Wheel? Also, I need to collect about 125 Black 7.5" rods. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Rebar rods come in 10' and 29' foot lengths with 0.375" to 2.257" diameters at most large hardware store.
