stepper motor function as generator? Answered

I want to make a stepper motor function as generator. Is it possible to do it if I don't want to hack the motor system? This is because, I cant change the principle of the motor itself.

Here is a stepper motor generating light power.

Keep in mind the shaft was only turned by finger friction but a full power drive would do considerably more better !

Yes just spin the armature it will generate a current it can be a three phase or a two phase output AC current, so if you want a DC you will need a rectifier on the matching outputs.

You should be able to simply turn the spindle and get electricity out of the windings.

how much depends on the operational voltage of the stepper.
