user-hosted knex instructable contest!!!! [Typos fixed!] Answered

Hi everyone, I am a long-time knex gun user and Instructable maker, you probably don't remember me because I am using this new account and my old one has been inactive for years. More to the point, i am going to hold a knex gun instructable contest not run by the site administrators. Because of this, the only reward is fame and glory among the knexers' What you need to do to be in this contest is make an instructable of a knex gun and give the link to it on this forum. You will have to design a gun that you do not cock, has no block trigger, and has a very easy instructable. A few suggestions for this design are listed below. Technical requirements: ~ The gun must have no block trigger ~ The gun must shoot any rod ranging from the smallest size to the second largest [green - red] suggestions for making a far better gun than anyone else: ~ make as many extra / removable components as possible ~ make a hopper or way to have multiple shots at one time in the gun ~ use as few and as simple foreign objects as you can get your hands on ~ Make the gun with less than 250 pieces ~ Make the instructable as good as you can, after all, even if you get the gun, you have to show it here!

I don't like this contest. You are being too strict, and I suggest you take a few of the requirements away, for example, the bottom loading magazine and the grip. Also the fact that it has to look like a certain gun. You should let us be more creative than that. I was going to finish up my semi and enter it, but it will not have a bottom loading clip, nor a top-loading clip. You are asking for a specific gun, rather than letting us create our own, though my semi does resemble an mp5...

Does it use my hammer technique? It looks like it from looking at the trigger.

Yes it does, although I modified by moving the hammer and trigger closer and removing the green connetors so so it is abit more compact.

It is a semi-auto that fires grey connectors because the green rods kept jamming.

thank you, and please, spread word to the other guys who haven't come back, and a helpful hint for making a awesome gun: To up the firing speed, make it so there is no trigger and have a firing pin that can easily be pulled back and released, firing the gun

Guys, I'm sorry, It seems that you all misunderstood, by bottom loading clip i mean a hopper in which all the ammunition won't spill out if turned upside down, and i said that it can't shoot grey connectors because those are found more rarely in 250 piece knex sets [there is less of them than other rods] and i did not want to disclude the 11-year-old buy with one knex set from having a sufficient amount of amunition. and there is a large many typos in the message that i will fix as soon as possible, I am very sorry for the confusion

It can't shoot grey connectors? That's silly.

like mepain says, the requirements are way too strict, and please use correct vocabulary when it comes to magazines. No knex gun (that i have ever seen) has used a clip to store ammo, and very very few real world guns use clips, in fact the one gun worth noticing i can think of is the m1 garand.

M1 garand is got to be one of the best guns in the world in my opinion.
