waterproofing a CD spindle Answered

Hi all,

I've been working on a variation of an existing instructable and I thought I'd asked this q before, but can't find it. SOooo here goes;

I need suggestions on sealing a cd spindle into its plastic cover? I've managed to do it with about 4 sticks of hot glue and several burnt knuckle but  there must be an easier way?

cheers,
flashj

Waterproof no more nails and a caulking gun would take a minute, go slow making sure the bead runs in to the gap to get a strong seal.

100 % Silicone caulking or RTV gasket sealant. Heat weld the plastics? Make sure the plastic surfaces are clean for best adhesion. I'm guessing you want it sealed permanently or else you have to work out a gasket sealing system that lets you open up the spindle cover again.
