we saved a baby rabbit
there were 5 rabbits but 2 died and 2 we haven't found the reason we know there are five is because we saw them the day before ,but didn't save them because we thought that the mother would come back Then the next day we saved them when we noticed only one was living. something sorta lucky happened... when we were on our vacation to Pennsylvania the rabbits cage tipped over and the rabbit got out and hid some where in our house. but my brother that stayed home so some one was there to look for him. He couldn't find him after like 2 hrs of looking he so he told my dog to find him and sure enough she sniffed him out in like 1 - 5 minutes. He ended up right behind the computer I am sitting at.... as I fix my grammar and spelling errors. he is also as big as a soft ball now :P that thing grows so dang fast.

Just as a really bad storm was about to hit our area, yesterday; I saw something I have NEVER seen before: a momma squirrel decided the nest, her and her young were in was going to get flooded, and so, one by one, she took a baby in her mouth (the young ones held on for dear life too) and transported them about 75 yards (about 69 meters) to another tree and nest up the way from where I stood. She was quite diligent about it, and did not seem to mind my standing nearby and watching. I knew cats and dogs moved their young sometimes, but this was the first time I saw a squirrel do it.

I wish I could have....at least gotten a few stills of it...but getting close enough is hard, and my only "cam" tethered to the computer :-) I did a little research and apparently they do that if need be.....the babies were nearly half her size too :-)

My dad was blackberry picking when he saw a rabbit in the road having babies. It ran into the bushes when it saw/heard the truck coming. I dunno how the babies are now :\

Yeah I dunno why the rabbit was having her babies in the road... You'd think they would have them someplace hawks and stuff couldn't easily see them... I hope the bunnies didn't get eaten :(
Reply 12 years ago
maybe it was out eating or something and couldn't make it back.
Reply 12 years ago
