Depends on what you are molding.

Fiberglass can be molded in anything you can coat in a thin layer of wax.

Although not the subject of this Instructable I built this vacuum molder out of balsa wood and body filler. It shapes sheet plastic using heat and a vacuum.

Sometimes with harder materials go with softer materials like silicone.

Was thinking of something like this for other projects but never got around making one as I could not find a local supplier with good prices for the sheets.
In AU everything comes with an extra LOL

Here is a killer for you.

I get my molding plastic from the grocery store.

Cakes and other bakery goods come in vacuum formed packages with flat spots as large as 2 square feet. All you need to do if you want a certain color is sand with very fine sand paper and paint.

Take polystyrene foam and bring it into the right shape.
Add a thin layer of fibreglass and once cured remove the foam, dissovle the rest with acetone.
