I have a friend that goes out to measure the signal intensity for radio stations and has found a murder victim in a scrub brush some time ago.

The broadcasters can control or aim power where they need to reach their audience.

Like Steve says "Depends on the kind of transmitter"

Depends on the kind of transmitter. A cellular phone mast has a 10W/channel limit IIRC. Some of the big, long wave transmitters, like the BBC Radio 4 LW broadcast at 10kW or more
