A tornado is a very distructive storm that is attracted to trailer parks, twister is a game you play by spinning a spinner and placeing a hand or foot on the color that is called out on the spinner.
The difference it mainly in what part of the country you are in, in my experience. In town we call it a tornado, but in the country I've always heard it called a twister.
