Overview

3D printing is having a huge effect on the DIY community. While there will always be room for making stuff by hand, it's so helpful to just print out a part you need. In honor of this awesome tech we've teamed up with Craftsman and 123D for this 3D Printing Contest. Note: you do NOT need a 3D printer to enter.

This contest is open to any new Instructable that involves 3D printing or has a model that can be 3D printed. So for those of you with 3D printers, show us what you made where any piece or the whole thing was made with a 3D printer. For those with no printer, include a 3D file of something you wish you could 3D print.

Need some software to make a 3D file? Check out all the free 123D apps and Tinkercad to get started!

The best entry will win a sweet new MakerBot® Replicator® 2 Desktop 3D Printer, for printing out lots of amazing parts for your upcoming projects.

So get going, make or design something awesome by July 8, 2013. We can't wait to see what it is.

Accepting
