'Tis the season to be merry, and toast the holidays with a fine mixed drink! We're fond of both mocktails and cocktails, so we're hosting a Cocktails vs. Mocktails Contest!
Enter your favorite mixed-drink recipes, and win some awesome prizes from ThinkGeek! They can be cocktails or non-alcoholic mocktails, classic recipes or your own invention - we just want to see the best drinks you can make.
To make this contest a little extra-interesting, we're adding a new contest feature: the Team Bonus Prize. Each Instructable will count toward either Team Mocktail or Team Cocktail. The team with the most entries will be rewarded with an extra top prize. Each category already has one top prize, but if Team Mocktail has more entries, then there will be two top prizes for mocktails, or vice versa!
So if you want to improve your odds for winning a top prize, submit more entries for your team!
For the Team Mocktailers out there: when titling your Instructable, be sure to add "mocktail" to the end. So "Daiquiri Mocktail" or "Piña Colada Mocktail" or "Gin & Tonic Mocktail." Sure, the last one is just tonic water, but you get the idea.
And one more special bonus: everyone who enters will also receive a coupon for up to $10 off a Think Geek purchase! Every entry wins - what more could you ask for? Now, start your shakers and blenders!
Multiple entries are accepted and encouraged. International entries are allowed.
(Official Rules)
Create a new Instructable that fits the guidelines outlined in the contest description above. To be eligible, Instructables must be published between Dec 2, 2009 and Jan 3, 2010 (11:59pm PT).
Upon publishing your Instructable you'll see checkboxes for open contests. Select Cocktails vs. Mocktails Contest. If you have entries currently eligible for entry, it will also show up by clicking "Enter this Contest" on the right side of this page.
Entries are accepted by Instructables staff within one business day Monday - Friday. What matters is the submission time, not acceptance time.
A panel of judges made up of Instructables staff and respected members of the community rate the finalists. The averages of the ratings determine the winners.
When the winners are decided they will be notified and announced here on the contest page.
