Overview
It's time again for a First Time Author Contest! If you are unfamiliar with it, this contest is open to any Instructable posted by a first-time author; if you've never shared an Instructable before, this contest is for you!
Do you find it too intimidating to compete with those who have won over and over again? Then this is your chance to shine! Share a project made for any category of the site, as long as you haven't posted before, you can enter this contest.
As there is no theme, we'll be looking for well-made projects and well-documented Instructables. Show off both your making skills and how well you photograph and explain what you do. The best new authors will have the chance to win a Canon camera kit, iPad mini, or Dremel kit.
We have resources to help you make your first Instructable a great one. Be sure to check out our free online class How to Write an Instructable, and for going above and beyond check out the Featuring Guidelines.
Create a new Instructable that fits the guidelines outlined in the contest description above. To be eligible, Instructables must be published between Oct 7, 2019 and Dec 2, 2019 (11:59pm PT).
Upon publishing your Instructable you'll see checkboxes for open contests. Select First Time Author Contest. If you have entries currently eligible for entry, it will also show up by clicking "Enter this Contest" on the right side of this page.
Entries are accepted by Instructables staff within one business day Monday - Friday. What matters is the submission time, not acceptance time.
A panel of judges made up of Instructables staff and respected members of the community rate the finalists. The averages of the ratings determine the winners.
When the winners are decided they will be notified and announced here on the contest page.
