We are excited to announce our Gadget Hacking and Accessories contest in Partnership with Shapeways and Popular Mechanics. We have amazing prizes from Shapeways, Ultimaker, and Sphero. The grand prize winner will even be featured in-print in Popular Mechanics!
We also have a special Judges' Prize for entries that uses 3D printing or modeling as part of the build process. EVERY entrant in this contest will receive a $10 printing credit at Shapeways, a special offer for makers to explore the infinite possibilities of 3D printing. You must enter the contest before you receive this credit.
Gadget hacking is modifying, accessorizing, updating gadgets (electronic or otherwise) of any type. Some examples of 3D hacks by the Shapeways community are below.
Ultimaker has posted a forum to answer questions about 3D printing specifically for this contest. Check it out and learn from their community!

Create a new Instructable that fits the guidelines outlined in the contest description above. To be eligible, Instructables must be published between Apr 7, 2014 and Jun 2, 2014 (11:59pm PT).
Upon publishing your Instructable you'll see checkboxes for open contests. Select Gadget Hacking and Accessories Contest. If you have entries currently eligible for entry, it will also show up by clicking "Enter this Contest" on the right side of this page.
Entries are accepted by Instructables staff within one business day Monday - Friday. What matters is the submission time, not acceptance time.
A panel of judges made up of Instructables staff and respected members of the community rate the finalists. The averages of the ratings determine the winners.
When the winners are decided they will be notified and announced here on the contest page.
