Overview

IN CASE OF A TIE!

Because some of the teams are close, this is how ties will be determined. If more than one team qualifies for a prize once the contest has concluded, we will determine the winner by the team whose LAST project was published FIRST according to Pacific Standard Time.

We're pleased to present the 2017 Makerspace Contest!

The contest that brings communities together is back for its third iteration. Epilog, Ultimaker, Dremel, Woodcraft, and DigiKey are offering up $50,000 in useful tools that would round out any Makerspace. It’s time to get together and get making for a chance to win for your team.

As a bonus for our overachievers, this year we will award individual prizes for the Best Individual Project, Best Use of Fusion 360, Best Use of Sculpting in Fusion 360 and Best Use of CAM in Fusion 360 as well! Show off your best projects and you could win this prize all for yourself. Get started by downloading Fusion 360, free for students and educators, hobbyists and startups!

Don't forget to check out our classes for helpful information and ideas on where to get started. Also, if you have any questions or just want to chat with people from other Makerspaces, check out this forum topic.

Important Info

- Captains must register their Team (5-20 members located within 150 miles of each other) using this form. Your team will be given a unique code that must be used as a keyword for every project your team posts.
- You can enter ANY project, but they must have: multiple steps, full-text descriptions in each step, and photos.
- Team members must submit their projects to the contest when they publish them. From official rules: "You may not hold onto entries and submit them in bulk at a later date or submit more than 50% of the total entries during the last week of the Contest or you will not qualify for the Grand Prize for 'Most Featured Instructables.'"

How It Works

Write an Instructable

Create a new Instructable that fits the guidelines outlined in the contest description above. To be eligible, Instructables must be published between Jun 1, 2017 and Aug 31, 2017 (11:59pm PT).

Enter

Upon publishing your Instructable you'll see checkboxes for open contests. Select Makerspace Contest 2017. If you have entries currently eligible for entry, it will also show up by clicking "Enter this Contest" on the right side of this page.

Accepting

Entries are accepted by Instructables staff within one business day Monday - Friday. What matters is the submission time, not acceptance time.

Judging

A panel of judges made up of Instructables staff and respected members of the community rate the finalists. The averages of the ratings determine the winners.

Winners

When the winners are decided they will be notified and announced here on the contest page.
