architecture for grade 4-6, need lighting ideas

I volunteer on Saturdays in Watts/LA for a program with kids from grades 4-6. The program involves 6-8 week "classes" taught by volunteers, and I'm an assistant for a new class on architecture. We're building a structure, and I want to include both lighting and sound. For lighting, I sincerely apologize, I have no experience and not much time, can someone recommend a simple way to let the kids build some different LED effects, ideally AC powered, that they could incorporate into the scaffolding we built last week in first class (the structure will be about 6x6feet.) The second question, I think sound is essential to architecture, I happen to have some sanyo MP3 players, I was thinking of buying small MP3 speakers for each, and then letting kids experiment with what a wash of different sounds and music would sound like within the structure.Amazon MP3 speakers start at 20$. Any other options? I think it would be great to have strpped down speakers so that kids can build the speaker housing to incorporate into the architecture.  I can find + and - on a battery. Thats about the level of my competence.

Need a portable solar system to recharge my electric car that has 6 batteries?

I would like to create some sort of portable solar recharging device for my NEV. I was thinking I could mount the solar panel on the roof (or is that just crazy) and then wire it to the recharger that could be carried in the trunk. When I stop somewhere, I can just plug the solar charger into my car and have it recharge as I'm out to eat, at the beach, or wherever I've gone.

Looking for craft projects for 6 to 10 yr old craft coop. Something that is cool, quick and super fun!

These kids are all over the place.  Seriously there are ten of them both boys and girls.  Other than my two who are used to using materials independently they ask for a lot of help.  Also things that I think will keep them busy for a while they just blow through to be finished without really enjoying or experimenting with materials.  I am looking for construction projects, textile projects, simple machines, anything to keep these guys busy for the two hours they are with me.  You guys will be saving my sanity!!

would you throw an unemployed lazy sibling out of the inherited house that was left to be divided between 6 others?

I am the eldest of 7 siblings. I helped my parents and 5 younger siblings to purchase their first house, which they could not afford any other way at that time. I lent them the down payment with the agreement that my husband and I had half of the interest. I also wanted to help them with their financial stature. Owning a house and paying a mortgage will help their credits. My mother being the adult and saner when it comes to financial issues, so I thought, that I had a serious talk with her about the half interest between them and my husband and I. Three years later, they bartered the house for a new townhouse, without our knowledge, not being in the title.  I made a big issue about not getting my half interest upon knowing they purchased a new townhouse. They gave me and my husband our money back from the second mortgage loan of the new townhouse. To this day, according to them since we received our money back, my husband and I are no longer entitled to any more profit. Our parents passed away and left a Will that the town house be divided to us, 7 siblings. Our lazy sibling who is unemployed for years does not want to move out of the townhouse and does not want to follow what the Will said.  Our talks always ended in a screaming episode each time by my telling her to do right thing. To have a meeting and not hide the Will so she could stay in the rent free house that our mother left for all of us. Our mother who survived longer than our father made the mortgage payments for my two siblings left living with her are unemployed. The others moved out and god married and only sibling left who is unemployed and wanting to live forever as she can and refuses to discuss about what to do with the Will left by our mother. What shall I do? Please help and pardon my explanation if not so clear. Thank you.
