Hi im creating my pcb but i have 2 555 timers and its getting too complicated,all wires are overlaping and its a big mess i would appreciatte if someone can help me with the dising,thanks very much,

I did a home automation project and I even fabricated PCB. I got a plastic box for encasing my PCB. The plastic box needs to be cut in two places to give the power chord and connection to the relays. I had soldering iron so I beat it up to a straight rod and tried to cut some plastic boxes that were lying around in my home. the heat was too much and even though the cut was somewhat accurate the heat caused the surrounding plastic to eventually melt and it became ugly. Any idea how I can cut the plastic smoothly?

I've been doing research into some home brewed add-on people have made for Arduino. I was surprised to find that there are a ton of custom shields that people have developed and sell right now (check this out: http://shieldlist.org/). This gave me some ideas for developing products myself. I'm trying to gauge what people are looking for in new Arduino product. If you could take a really quick survey that I designed to test the market, I'd really appreciate it? On a related point, I was wondering about the feasibility of a brushless motor shield. I am working on an Arduino based dual rotor mulicopter with some friends (here is a link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC566tCzMbp-S5ThKuPQO_6g. We aren't too far in yet). I think for others that make "Arducopter", it would be nice to do away with external ESCs for controlling brushless motors. I think it would be far more convenient to have a shield that acts as a substitute for ESCs and also act as a power distribution platform for on board components. Is it dangerous to be running that much current on a PCB on top of an Arduino? Would it be wise to connect a 3S LiPo in parallel with the shield ESC and an Arduino, or could that damage my Arduino? Thanks in advice for the help!

Right now it's DING DONG, DING DONG, DING DONG. Three times and piercingly loud. I can't imagine the speaker is controlling the dinging and the donging - I think it must be steered by a chip on the PCB. How could I swap out either the speaker or the chip to have a still clearly audible but less repetitive and annoying alert?

There is a water tank on top of this villa (about 40m up.) On the ground floor is the pump. I wanted to put a fluid level indicator in the tank that can be hooked up to a PCB. The board will then be hooked up to our internal network. At the pump will be a relay to turn it on and off, also on the network. This way the pump will turn on and off automatically.Ideally, the whole system would be web enabled and allow for logging, but that more of a "wish list" then a requirement. could I do something like this with an arduino board? I don't have much experience with them, but I'd love to learn more about them.

Hi, I am trying to make a 3d lantern for my art project at college. I want to solar power it using Led fairy lights and a solar power rechargeable cell, I need to pull it all apart and just use the Led's of one colour, and put it all back together. The solar power cell is PCB wired to have 6 different functions. If I gut it and then rewire, how will I know which points to solder to just function as an on and off setting? I notice that the existing fairy lights have up to 4 wires running from them skipping to different colours in the circuit along the 10m length. Help. I have to have this project in in 1 weeks time! yikes, and I just found this site. P.S. I am a girl, so keep the answers low level tech!! :)?

I have spent three years doing this but here it is. This is a new LED and I actually patented it. Its a screw in unit that has a chip mounted directly onto a solid brass core that takes heat away far better than any circuit board. In addition it screws into any m10x1.5 hole, if you use a flat plate on the front a small insulator and a heatsink or metal on the back with the M10 thread all you need do is make an electrical connection to the plates and you can screw any colour you want into the heatsink. It comes in every wavelength from 380 (uv right up to IR at 1040nm) Ill be adding pics shortly of acrylic displays the 180 degree one is absolutely perfect for these i use frost spray on edges i want to illuminate and leave clear other bits the effect is amazing even masking a flat acrylic and putting two tone pictures using the spray is awsome. iv also designed an off the shelf PCB up to 60watts it drives any series parallel circuit, all you do is program it with the wattage of the whole array. If you program say 15watts in an array with several LED's it powers the array with the exact forward voltage required and alters realtime so the light output is near constant. Also have a patent pending on this as well. I have lots of time and plenty of these available if anyone is interested I am now running a small business based around it and have done some really nice hand crafted kit.
