I'm going to make the 3D dino cake that I found on this site. A home made cake was recommended over the mixes because they are denser. Does anyone know of a good recipe that is dense and not at flakey as the mixes?
In real life and ingredients and steps

Sidestone Press is looking for nerdy archaeology cake recipes, if they get enough they're planning on turning them into a book. They contacted me after seeing my dinosaur excavation cake and need more nerdy cake recipes to make a book. This could be a fun crossover, but they can't make the book if they don't get enough content. Make an Instructable out of it and it's like a double-win! Here's the Facebook page, submit your recipe today and have it in a book!

My son is turning 6 next week and is having a Star Wars Lego party. Searched the planet for a cake top but doesn't exist. It's a 1/2 of a sheet cake so the little figures look ridiculous. Wanted to make the top myself out of Lego but can't find any patterns. Can someone help or do you have any great ideas? Coolest kid ever.....now need the cake to match! Any help would be greatly appreciated! :-) Loriann

Hi everyone. I am making a wedding cake in June and, because the couple are doing it on a very tight budget, I need to DIY as much as possible I have no idea how to make a posy. Preferably using artificial roses. I need help to make a budget topper that looks a million dollars (or pounds). I would also need help with the same but using fondant. Can anyone help?

For my history class project I have to prepare a small collection of traditional dishes from one of the countries of the European Union. It's important that all the dishes are from the same country of the EU. I'll have to carry it all to school, so it has to be transportable. Some salads, cakes or pies would be great for this. If the dish is well known, just tell me the name. I can find the recipe on the Internet. The original names of the dishes would be great, too.

Hello everyone, First time here, found lots of info but have question about using this type of piping. I've noticed most people use either black hose or irrigation pipe. I have extra black radiant heat hose and was thinking it would be much better. Its black hose shell with a thin aluminum shielding then thick white pipe inside. It says rated for 200F - 100psi and is 1/2 thick. Brand name caked Weil-Mclain Alumipex for Radiant 1/2nom 1216 PEX-AL-PEX. Can someone please let me know if this would work. Thanks. Brian

Though I dearly love eyelash yarn, this eyeball yarn takes the cake. It's vitreous humor, from insubordiknit.com:Ever wish you had eyes on the back of your head? Well now you can have them all over your head, bwahahaha...or your neck...or wherever you choose to don your knitted eyeball item.Five colorways of handpainted merino wool with scads of handdyed tussah silk noils, soysilk, organic cotton and ingeo then corespun the yarn thick and thin, poofy and tight, so that it would resemble a mass of muscley eye innards. Spun in, nice and tight, are 13-15 hand felted eyeballs Note -- these are NOT plied in or tied in! They are spun in, part of the actual yarn. They seem to have a podcast too, and promise more background on this yarn in the 4th episode.

We don't eat much eggs in this house hold let alone boiled eggs so it would be a waste to just make, colour and then eventually throw out those Easter eggs after words. But I still want to have some coloured Easter eggs to make a cheery atmosphere. Colouring raw eggs is not practical either. So I was thinking taking eggs that I would use to make cakes est and instead of just cracking I would just make a small hole on one end to let the yoke out in the process preserving the egg shells. Now with those egg shells, can I pour in Plaster of Paris to replace the yokes that were in them? So I can get a sort of real egg feeling? Then colouring them when dry? What do you think?

I am looking at using a pair of Peltier panels to make a "spot reducer" using cryolipolysis. Cryolipolysis is what the Zeltiq machine uses to freeze fat cells such that they dissolve. On a bodybuilding forum they were talking about using cool-paks, those gel-filled plastic blocks that you put in the freezer. My idea is to take a hand clamp and mount the Peltiers to it. I may need cooling on the hot sides, for that I will probably use liquid cooling blocks from computer CPU coolers. Then, you just clamp those babies on your love handles and crank up the juice. "Animal studies show a fat-reducing effect starting at around minus 1C, with the plate in place from five to 20 minutes." Since Peltiers get about 65 degrees C in differential, and room temp is about 26 degrees (warm room!) it will be a piece of cake for the junction to chill off those love handles. Would not be hard to put a temp controller on it to protect from frostbite or from burning up the junctions. Before you scoff, a Zeltiq treatment runs $700!

WARNING: Mechanically inexperienced Newbie post below. Your patience is appreciated. :)Some of you may have seen this lamp online somewhere:http://www.hulgerisation.com/?page_id=60I'd like to try and make a lamp that works like this. As mentioned above, my experience is virtually non-existent when it comes to taking machines apart and hacking into them, but I possess a decent amount of common sense, and I'm pretty handy when it comes to tools. I'd like this to be my first project of this type. It seems simple enough: take a lamp base, a clock spring and a dynamo flashlight aaaand.... then what? Okay, so maybe it's not so simple. But to some of you, I'm sure it's probably a piece of cake, right? So if you've got the time and would like to explain how to do this, I'd truly appreciate your help.I found this instructable to be informative, https://www.instructables.com/id/The-Wind-up-Headboard-Reading-Light/but ultimately, it's not what I'm looking for. The key is the key for me with this lamp. It is visually appealing to me. Secondly, I would like lighting component to be that of a standard lamp- incandescent or CFL. If anyone has some kindly advice to offer, I would truly appreciate it. Thank you for reading!

This normally wouldn't be a problem for me but the downfall of the situation is that she is 27 and I'm 20 years old. She has an amazing personality similar to mine, has the same taste in music as I do, and she has this amazing ability to understand my sense of humor. She even said to me "its a shame you're so young, you could've had a "maybe baby"" after we were done discussing our music taste. The thing is, she is very silly at times. Now what I mean by that is that she is goofy and very free-spirited when she works and converses with others. Which to me is the icing on the cake because it means I don't have to feel uptight and act like a tightwad when I'm around her. She has these amazing eyes that I stare into every time I speak with her which deter my focus away from her astonishing body which would be something I focus on with any other girl. Long story short, believe she likes me for me but I just don't know how to conquer the idea of the age difference in her head. Any help would be greatly beneficial and appreciated.

I can recycle them and get around $5 USD back from each of them, but I don't want to do that! I got them a few years ago, and they just look SO COOL! Some specs: Model GPR-17 Brand: Canon or Katun Katun's Part number : 37375 2000g contents. http://www.compratutoner.com/image/cache/GPR-17-400x400.jpg THERE ARE MORE PICTURES IN THE COMMENTS I was thinking about placing LEDs underneath the semi-transparent cap and having it hooked up to my music visualizer, but it's a subtle glow, not the INTENSE BRIGHTNESS I'm looking for. I've completely washed it out, but the inside of it isn't hollow. There's this sort of crazy internal structure that holds the powder/toner. I guess it's so it doesn't cake up? well it's empty and clean now. I can post pics of the different openings and details on demand. Preferably an application that is as least invasive as possible. I don't wanna be cutting it up into a billion pieces. I thought it'd be an eye sore, but it's really aesthetically pleasing to me. Let me know if anyone wants some, I can mail them out to you!
