Looking for homemade candy recipes!!!! Answered

Me and my friends are looking for some extra money and decided that we were going to try to sell some homemade candy. We are looking for some easy-ish recipes, but we are willing to try some harder ones too. We are on a pretty (very) low budget. Maybe $25 or so. So, if you know any recipes personally, or the URL's to some other recipes online, please include them in your answer. Alternatively, you could private message your recipes and info to me on YouTube. My channel is TNTutorials. Please do your best to contribute. We are doing our best to save up money for some personal goals, and the civilians in my neighborhood are candy heads, so we thought that this should work. Please take this seriously, and try to contribute! Thanks!!!

Can you suggest some other materials for Candy Wrapper Bags? Answered

Rolls of candy wrap plastic/cellophane don't seem to be available in Australia.( I don't know what to call them")   I have made several so called candy wrapper bags using paper and tape so I want to find a "paper" that is already laminated or weather/waterproofed as my arthritic hands are not suited to all the cutting and sticking of paper and sticky tape. My current bag takes over 300 pieces so reducing some of the steps will make it more manageable. Any ideas will be greatly welcomed. Thank you.

Homemade wax paper wrappings? Answered

Hello everyone! This is the first time I've used this feature on Instructables, so here goes. :) I'm trying to recreate vintage sweet wrappers for a friend who will use them in a film he's making for uni, and I wondered if I could somehow impregnate the wrappers in wax to make them "chocolate proof" so I could let a friend re-live times from long ago. :) I'd be using standard printer paper and inkjet ink, would this survive the waxing? Also how would I coat the paper in a layer of wax thin enough not to crack when the package is assembled? I was also planning on heat sealing the edges wsing a warmed metal tooling to first fold the paper into a tube, then crimp the edges. Thanks for any help :) (Sorry if this is in the wrong section, as its technically a wax and paper mess-afound i think it's closer to Art than anything else. :) )

Food safe material to line or seal a metal ball? Answered

I have an aluminum rice steamer ball that I need to seal the interior of.  It will hold candies so it needs to be food safe.  I'm looking for either some sort of food safe epoxy or silicone material that I can use to either just plug the steamer ball holes or line the entire interior surface.  Any ideas?

Dipped spoon recipe (to stir in coffee).

I would like to find a flavorful dipped spoon recipe for Christmas gift giving.  I have seen the chocolate dipped spoons (with only chocolate and a sprinkling of mint candy or nuts).  I would prefer something with a bit more flavor.  I would add an extract (rum, orange, vanilla, etc.) but I think the chocolate has to harden and adding anything may prevent this from happening.  Any ideas?

Halloween blinking eyes LED project

A pair of red LEDs which blink in an approximation of the glowing red eyes of some baleful critter lurking in the shadows behind me as I hand out candy to the kids. I figure to poke the LEDs through a piece of cardboard sprayed with flat black paint. Half a dozen sets of light would make for a pretty scary pack of, well, something. Just the thing for Halloween. I don't have the technical background to do this but it seems like it might be fun and cheap.

Any ideas on how to make lids for jars? Answered

That probably sounds kooky! However, what I have are a number of those Kraft Peanut Butter jars that are shaped like teddy bears.  Unfortunately they have no lids. I'd like to use them on a kitchen shelf and fill them with various things... nuts, candies, rubber bands, etc I know someone out there will have the imagination for figuring out how I can "cap" them. They don't need to be fastened...  screwed on or snapped. I just want to cover the openings in some way that looks "finished", and of course, keep the dust out. I do want them to match so the jars look like a set. Thanks for your interest and ideas.
