In the quest to make things we need tools. Some are expensive and some are not. I found a place to buy tools that is very reasonableNorthern Tool. This link, for example is for their brand of rotary tool. I've used this tool and it meets or exceeds a Dremel's capabilities, and no I don't work for them. I saw some designs for jewelry made from industrial junk and I needed a rotary tool. Since I'm a little short in the cash department right now I explored other avenues. Glad I did.

I recently obtained a nice massage table for my wife (she does massage, studying to be an aesthetician too)... and it has a very nice feature; beneath the head-end of the table, there is a little lever, when depressed it raises from flat to about 60 degrees; and stops at any point in between as soon as the lever is released. And it stays there, even with most of my weight (250 pounds or so) pushing down against it. As soon as you press the little lever, it can be moved up or down again. I looked it over, and much of the mechanism is hidden, but I can see it relies on a (deceptively small) gas shock or hydraulic shock, like what is used in many car trunks and 3rd/5th door lifts for SUVs and hatchbacks. Though, obviously much stronger than those devices. So my question is, where can I find one of these things, and how does it come to be controlled by a little lever so that it can stop at any given point and bear a load without moving until the level is once again depressed? The main reason for my query is that the massage table is too narrow by far, and I plan on making a bigger one for her, with a few nicer features; but that is one I have no idea how to duplicate at the moment! Thanks!

The instructions that came with the tomato kit said to plant *all* of the seeds, so I did. I didn't expect all of them to grow. So now I have a basket that's now overflowing with cherry tomato sprouts, and I'm worried they're too crammed in there. I'm also worried that if I try to transplant them to another container, they'll die! What do I do?

I have almond colored with faux oak trim laminate cabinets in kitchen and baths. Would like to update as I plan on selling fairly soon and don't want to invest a lot of $$. My condo was build in the mid-80-'s and the cabinets look very dated. I'm not very handy with tools but can manage the simple ones. Thanks for any advice. Kahy
Ever since week 2 from the start of school, I've been getting headaches... and lots of it. From headaches, day 1, and a week thereafter, the headaches happened twice daily. Now it's week 3, and the headaches seem to be subsiding... a bit... Now I only get a few headaches every other day. What can be a viable explanation to this madness? In case this helps... I've limited my drinking of CocaCola since the past few months. I've started drinking water more often. I should be taking vitamins, but I forget to do so. What more is there? Yeah, we've received a lot of homework since school, day 2. Normally, I don't take in a lot of stuff just like that, but I was forced to do so under these circumstances. Perhaps, a combination of stress and vitamin deficiency? UPDATE: Headaches are subsiding now. Just a side note: it's as if everyone got headaches at the same time as I did. Multiple people received their dosage of headaches at roughly the same period. One of them was pregnant (understandable), the rest were college freshmen. I believe we can say that the headaches originated from a bit of "shock" from entering school (our homework instance rates upped by more than 100%!)

You know those liquid motion toys you often find at places like Spencer gifts in which a denser liquid (usual bright colored) drips down onto a spiral and you can watch this discrete bubble ride on down? I'm wondering what's inside them and if its feasible to make your own. I've heard lots of things, that the clear liquid is usual a light oil and the colored part is water. I've heard the reverse, I've also heard that there is no water in these things that both are different oils.any help would be appreciated. if your still wondering what im talking about heres a place that sells them : http://www.officeplayground.com/spiraltimer.html

Two of my Axolotls have some kind of open wound sores on their backs. One also has it on his tail. I have isolated them into the fridge in there own waters to help the healing process. The third axolotl that I have is still in the 30 gallon tank. She appears to have a sore forming also on the side of her. I am watching it very closely to see if it may be the water that's doing this to them. I tested the water for the temp. which is at 70 F this is a little higher than normal and as I have researched could also be a factor. have had them for about 4-5 months. We have recently moved changing the tank took about 3-4hrs to it moved and set back up. I kept 1/3 of the water to keep the bacteria. I honestly don't know what else to do. if anyone has any suggestions or knows what exactly is going on re-guarding my axolotls, ANYTHING please email me at email@example.com. Thank You for the Support.

OK. So I have a box, a little bigger than a piece of paper. I want to give said box to somebody in 6th period on the last day of school. I have 5th period with said somebody, and they are usually pretty much last out of class. I want to give this box to them, but not actually be there, and I want it to be the end of the day. My original idea was to stuff it in their band locker... But... We won't be using those for the rest of the year. Then I thought, what if I was to beat said somebody out of class, run to their sixth period, and tell the teacher they left it in another class, all in time to make it out without them seeing me? I would probably have a timeframe of less than a minute to talk to this teacher, but I don't know... That would be cutting it pretty close, and what if they were the first out of the class then? Then I would be screwed. I may be able to convince a teacher to help me out, like maybe hold said somebody back on the last day to give me more time. I don't know. Any ideas?

I really need some advice. There is this girl I really like, we have been really good friends for years now, but right as I got up enough courage to tell her how I feel and ask her out, my brother askes he out, and she says yes. They broke-up about five months ago; she said she didn't see that the relationship was going anywhere. Now that they ended it and it seems like it has been long enough to try to ask her out again, every time I try to hang out with her when it is just us, something always comes up either with my parents or hers. Can anyone give me advice on how to act on this, because it seems like a very delicate situation?

When I was little I learned how to solder by building a heathkit. Sadly, they are no more. So what would be a good project for kids to build? I repaired an LED 'sword' for my 10 year old daughter this evening and she asked if I would teach her to solder. Of course! I would be so proud. But I need some good ideas for projects.

Its a very low ceiling. I have some translucent colored vellum (8.5x11). There are several bare lights. My housemates and I want to make a living area down there, there are some couches and a carpet. The walls are stone/concrete (unfinished). General decorating tips are also welcome. I was thinking about star shaped covers, or pin prick art, or something.

Hi and thanks for reading my question. I wear reading glasses and have had some pretty good luck with a pair that I purchased at CVS approximately four years ago. The only thing that has went wrong is that the clear-coating, that used to cover the inside of the glass's "arms" has worn off, from the rubbing of the inside of the arms against my head as I put the glasses on and take the glasses off. Does anybody please have any suggestions about what I should use to re-coat the arms of my reading glasses? Thanks again for reading my question and thanks also to anybody that can please offer me any suggestion(s)! Dan

I want to paint this on the back of some area rugs to keep them from curling..... will it work?
I live in a mobile home. At this time of year insects thrive. Unfortunately, I'm terrified of most insects, especially spiders. Lately, I've found spiders on the kitchen cabinets and counters. Any suggestions on how to repel them from being in my home?? I hate to use insecticides, but will if I have to. I prefer a more natural type of repelling them. Thank you. Linda D.
