Introduction: Diy Automatic Sliding Door Project
Completed automatic sliding door.no microcontroller is used, only timing circuits and h bridge motor driver.I revised its mechanism from cable to chain with a 24 volt gear motor.

Dear Sorelectronics
I wanna ask about things I am really confused of... Please help me, I wanna do this project and I really love your work. Here are my questions:
1.The 555ic and the remote control, in which tv remote should I use...
2. How about the Bias of Transistors...
3. Where is the base collector and emitter...
4. About the capacitor where can I find the mylar and micca on the diagram...
Please help Me, Thank you...

Dear sorelectronics
I have project for dsp, need circuit for prototype sliding door using lm555 timer and ir. pls.help. thank you

you can use my circuit.its complete and operational.you ca use pir sensor for wide ir detection.

Dear Sorelectronics
I would like to ask you about the part of the sensor I sow in the picture is two part but in the circuit is one can you please clarify this. And also the part for the relay I did not found it in circuit diagram only in the picture can you also clarify this I will attach the two picture for my quotation. I appreciate it if you could explain this two parts.
Many Thanks

relay is not included in the circuit.I put it there to turn the light bulb on in my early project.I duplicate the sensor in and out.their connection is in parallel.as an alternative, you can use PIR motion sensor, its much easier to use with wide angle of detection and their pinout are the same with ir detector.

Dear Sorelectronics
I am so glad for your answer now it's clear. I will take you advice for PIR sensor maybe in the future but now I like to use your circuit as it's. The challenge that I can find it’s to make the mechanism but I will try.
Many Thanks

wow... i wanna do this - pls label the pictures please i cant recognise stuff!! :P n thank youuu its wonderfulll

thanks, you can do this, just follow my schematics and mechanism.sorry i dont have the pcb design, maybe later on i will post it.

thank you very much!! I am doing this for my college project.. I hope i get it right!!

your welcome,goodluck on your project!

sir, I am very sorry to bug you, but i need assistance..! kindly help!!
i would like to know if the old circuit diagram works as well sir, as the components we managed to get correspond to the old one :(
And sir, is the (47k 40%) component a pot? what is that, sir??
Reply 9 years ago on Introduction
yes that old circuit works, but too many parts used,i manage to reduce the parts as a result of new circuit equivalent to the old one.i recomend you build the new circuit its simple and easy to build.the most important part is the remote control board or the infrared generator and the tv infrared detector, you mount them side by side.yes that pot is 47k pot to adjust the time how long the door will remain open before it close automatically.and also the 200 ohm pot connected to infrared led adjust how far it will detect the person coming.

sir, pardon me for asking, but this is the first circuit i am trying... so i have no idea... the 12v 1A, 2A supply.. how do i provide them..?
sir, i have color coded n numbered everything for my comfort.. as per the color ckt,
1)Q1,Q2 are c945, right sir?
2)diode 2 is also in4148 right sir?
3)c4 is 100microF right sir?
4)the led near r3 is an IR led??
I got everything else as per the ckt diagram.. I just need to verify before I go to purchase components once again!! (im hoping they accept an exchange of the excess components of the first ckt for new ones needed in the second ckt!)
and i hope i am not annoying you, I just really want to do this, its such a greatly used ckt, i want to learn its mechanism properly!! I hope u dont mind answering, Sir!

its ok,all your question are welcome and glad to help you.your right on the transistor, diode and capacitor and led is ordinary that light up when it detects.you can use two seperate power supply for the detector circuit and one for the motor circuit so that when motor and detector operates they will not interfere with each other because they have its own power supplies.its better to use switch mode power supply for voltage stability.12 volt motor was my previous design,i already use 24 volt motor much faster and sronger than 12 volt motor.so you have to use 12 volt 1 amp and 24 volt 3 amprere switch mode power supply.see sketch power supply wring.

thank you so much sir! Sir, i intend to only make a small door operate, around 3ft wide and 2ft high approx, as it is a project.. Also, it has to be portable, as I have to carry it to college.. so sir, i only got a 12v 100 rpm motor, is that enough for a small door? and do i have to alter anything due to size reduction??
Reply 9 years ago on Introduction
your 12 volt motor will do,3 by 2 feet door is not that heavy, you can use my first mechanism, nylon cord attached to the door, two pulley on the motor and at the end of the angle bar.you dont have to alter the circuit,it will work.

i am afraid i am having problems understanding Sir.. :( As i said, i have just started learning electronics, and I am an utter beginner..
I have attached my notesheet, is the mechanism right, Sir? I just dont get the angle bar design.. :/ Please help!!
(Reading the written part might be boring for you Sir, but I would really appreciate it if you could advise me about this! n I once again apologise for the scribbles and colours, I get a feeling of clarity when its in colour! :P The time is decreasing and i am panicking!! I hope I can get this done in time!!!)

and the power supply, Sir?? both are 12v now sir?? so what do i do??
To be ultra clear Sir, in the labs, We use DC supplies, so i have no idea how to make the path from the AC plug point to the circuit board!! What happens in between - the stepping down, regulation for proper constant supply is something i have never tried practically.. I feel blank!
