Introduction: Easy Lego M&m Dispenser
do you love m&ms and Lego? then this is the instructable for you
Step 1: Step 1
first your going to need a bottom piece at least 10 by 8 and put on a double slope and next to it put on a single slope 2 from either sides
Step 2: Step 2
then you have to make a piece that is 3 by 4 2 layers high and covered in flats. then put it next to the slopes so that it is flush with the back.
Step 3: Step 3
then you need to make a piece like this that has a 2 by 2 hole in it so the outer border is 4 by 4 and put flats all around the sides except 2 middle ones. then get a 2 by 6 thin piece and cover with flats join the front of the 2 by 6 to the 4 by 4 square with hole in it where their are no flats.
Step 4: Step 4
then put bricks all around the outside to make walls but have a gap where the m&ms come out of. dont forget to put the square flat where it shows you because it makes the mechanism slide.
Step 5: Step 5
put the next layer of bricks on that will cover the mechanism which is the 4 by 4 with hole in it with the 6 by 2. to put that in it have the square in the box with the 6 by 2 out of the box as you can see in the pic. now it should be 5 layers up with the part where you can pull out the side on the 4th ;layer
Step 6: Step 6
make a piece that is a 2 by 4 joined with a 1 by 2 and put it in the inside as shown. to put the 2 pieces together put the 1 by 2 on the under side of the 2 by 4 in the middle up the back
Step 7: Step 7
then put another layer on the top so it is in line with the piece that you put on in the step before. put the layer on so that it looks like this
Step 8: Step 8
put the next layer on so that when the m&ms are in it falls down to that spot. have slopes from all ends.
Step 9: Step 9
then make a box with no top or bottom and a hole through the middle so that it fits the top of the box and so that it is 3 layers high. you can make it as high as you want but i thought it looked better (and because i had no more pieces) then put it on top of the other piece
Step 10: Step 10
once you have done that then you can make a lid. you can make an easy one that is a thin piece that is 8 by 6. or you can go the harder way (not that hard) but is better. you will need a trap door that is 8 by 10 on the outside and the door is 5 by 4, then get a 1 by 8 thin piece or 2 1 by 4 thin pieces and put them on the front of the trap door where the hinge is not and then put a 1 by 2 single layer in the middle of where the 1 by 8 is. and your done to use this dispenser open the lid and put as many mini m&ms that you can fit in the lid then close the lid and pull out the knob that is on the side until it stops and then push it back in again and they should fall out in front of you
Step 11: Have a Fun Yummy Time :)
i hope this really helped with anything at all
pls comment and ask as many Qs as you want ;)

By sheer happenstance I actually have all the necessary pieces to build this. And my better half is both an M&M fan and a Lego fan. He's getting a big surprise at desert tonite. :D :D :D Thanx, I never would have thought of making one of these.

Can you add a video or a series of photos showing how this works? I'd like to see it in action but lack the legos at the moment.

I tried to but it won't work...it said something about a 1 meg amount or something.
Sorry...you can go on YouTube though and look up cheesy brick studios...he makes heaps of awesome Lego lolly candy machines using coins and stuff...

Cool beans was a popular expression that was used in the 70's. It died down in popularity, though.
