Introduction: Fill a Coworkers Office With Packing Peanuts

About: I have the best job ever! I get to do science assemblies for elementary schools and after school science programs along with science summer camps and birthday parties! I love learning new things and creatin…

Do you have a coworker that deserves to have their entire office filled with Styrofoam packing peanuts? Or, maybe there is a coworker that has pranked you in the past and you need to GO BIG in your retaliation? Well, you have come to the right place my friend! Read on.....

What you will need:

1) Several bags of Styrofoam packing peanuts. I found a manufacturing company that had plenty that they just gave me for free

2) Plastic sheeting large enough to cover the office window(s), plus a piece for behind the door

3) Tape - LOTS of it!

4) Weight of some sort. I used 50 pounds of free weights

Step 1: Locate Your Victims Office

The best office to carry out this prank is one with a large window. Actually, it is best if the office has two windows - one to display your glorious efforts and one to escape from. Here is our youth pastors office the day after the youth group TP'd my house. Yes, that's right, this prank was born out of retaliation! I pulled this one off a few years ago and, luckily, I did take a few pictures that day.

Step 2: Cover Window

Once inside the office, make sure that the blinds are open all the way, then cover the window with a large piece of plastic or paper. I had some newspaper roll ends so I just taped them together to make it slightly larger than the window. Make sure to use plenty of tape to hold the covering securely to the wall leaving the top open. Once your paper or plastic is in place, begin filling up this "pocket" with as many Styrofoam packing peanuts as you can. Make sure that your plastic is not visible from the outside of the office looking in. You will want the packing peanuts at least 6" thick

Step 3: Create Bag Inside of Door,... Enjoy

If you do have the luxury of another escape route such as another window to the outside, use a large piece of plastic to create a bag by taping one edge to the wall next to the door opening and the other edge along the door itself. This "bag" should be a couple feet taller than the door if possible. Take some of the extra plastic at the top and tape it along the top edge of the door so that you can fill the bag with packing peanuts over the top of the door. Now, as they begin opening the door, it will give the effect that the entire office is filled from floor to ceiling! To add to the effect, I placed about 50 pounds of weight against the door so that she had to really push hard to get it to open. Now you can climb out the other window and sit back and enjoy your amazing accomplishment while watching the expression on your coworkers face when they wonder how in the world you pulled this off!
