Intro: Fixing Laptop Screen Wobble

Iv had my inspiron e1505 for about a year and the screen has started to wobble with the slightest touch. I noticed one of the small stickers that hides the screws had fallen off with closer inspection i noticed the screw was holding down a part of the screen hinge and it was lose. I quickly realized this was the source of the problem. I also noticed 3 other screws were lose.

STEP 1: Locate Screws and Determen If They Are the Sorse of the Problem

if you have an dell inspiron e1505 the 4 screws are on the back next to the fan intake/exhaust vent and next to the charger hole these two should be under little stickers, peel them off. shake screen and see if the screws move in and out. (see vid/pics) the other 2 screws are on the back of laptop close the the other 2 screws they will not be covered.
sorry for poor video youtube decreased resolution

STEP 2: Fix It

all you have to do now is just carefully screw in screws. do not strip screws, if you damage your laptop or yourself its not my fault this may not work on all laptops

The dell Inspiron e1705 is the same computer you have.
Oh well..... The hinge is split on my compaq.. Though I squeezed it with the pliers and put it back on to be relieved for a few days... >:P
wow! thank you so much! [: i have an inspiron b130 as my web browsing pc and the wobble was SO ANNOYING! great tip. thanks again!
I have the same sort of problem ,but not so sever it either slams shut or bends backwards putting stress on the mounting points and causing cracks. but I just attached a peace of tubing one on the screen and the other on the main body so far I have no worry of it falling backwards & cause cracks. Note : my laptop is over three years old so I can get a way with this ,but for the price you have to pay in order to get a half decent laptop you would think they would have fixed this problem .
I have a dell xps m-140.. It's very similar to this model but I didn't have the screws where he described... instead there are also screws behind the rubber stops on the front of the screen around the border... just pop out those rubber stops and you'll find that the ones at the bottom are very loose and all of them are a little loose. tightening these helped my wobble significantly but this model had a slight wobble out of the box.. so what the hay.. It's just a poorly engineered hinge. The hp and toshiba hinges are really good.
my dads hp laptop screen is also wobbly its an hp and has the same 2 hinge system, but its broken because the plastic along the bottom left half got ripped off any ideas?
The video doesn't work for me, not sure if it's just me..
