Home Made Nerf or Air Gun , for Under $12 Bucks!

Well , after looking at a certain instructable , i found a very interesting one about an air release valve ( very nice video i must say) but sadly i never has 1 mm tubing nor the spring or the little rubber stoppers, but then it hit me when i was watering my plants (yes.. plants nothing more) if water had to stop then so did air! the best part is that it already has a trigger, so this is how i made the my gun

Items needed:
Hose nozzle (the blue thing on the picture)
almost 2 foot tube, use anything that would work like copper tube,schedule 40 PVC,Broom stick handle, sawed (what i use surprisingly hard and light , perfect for me! )
2 lt soda bottle never had any soda bottles around (i dont drink pop, it kills your bones!!!) so i used 500 ml water bottle, good enough but it pops around 50 psi
tape skewers
rubber water stopper for hoses
drill with a bit no larger than an inflating needle
and some hot glue or silicone, but it takes too long

Mandatory things:
Eye protection
hands that do not touch glue gun nozzle to see if its hot enough ( AKA wear gloves)
Make sure your not an idiot , if you are have some one with you thats not

WARNING:
Do not shoot nail at and biological living organism (translation : anything the breathes moves and eats EG: birds, humans, squirrels, ground hogs and rabbits )
Nails are extremely dangerous when fling out the barrel remember longer the barrel ( not not insane long) faster and longer it goes (thank you velocity!!! i right ,right?) , i never made a safety , once pumped it can shoot, once you press the trigger

Step 1: Take Off the Nozzle, Not Needed Yet

just unscrew the nozzle , you can use the multi type ones but there more expensive thus are not used, the nozzle will be used some other time if it works then ill post it (rocket launcher!) bad quality on this photo sorry, but its really doesn't matter,you get it right?

Step 2: Adding the Tube, and Taping It

slide on the tube, wont be snug but just add some tape "just" to keep it in place let it wiggle , then add 2 skewers (cut the tips for safety) and tape it so it doesn't move

Step 3: Add the Stopper IMPORTANT!

Now just add the rubber stopper and make sure it fits well and doesn't fall out ( the one that comes with the blue thing is too small) also make sure the tabs are facing away from you

Step 4: The Bottle

just screw in the bottle it will be tight VERY tight make sure its all the way use a wrench or something if its too hard

Step 5: Drill the Hole and Add the Inflation Needle

drill the hole on the hard part on the bottom of the bottle ( you understood that right?)
and add the needle and with hot glue or silicone seal the holes around the needle so it doesn't escape

Step 6: Have Fun

put in your ammo the best is ones from blow guns tape a cone to a nail put it down the barrel pump and shoot! have fun!

Tips for firing:
For maximum out put make sure the edges of the ammo it snug against the barrel
one way i use is dirt
just hit the barrel on the ground getting 2 cm of dirt on the end ans push it in 1 cm away from the tip of the valve have fun shooting dirt its unlimited and goes very fast!

Step 7: Shooting, an Art Passed From Genrations

Shooting, ok maybe its not an art passed from generation to generation but there is a specific way i shoot things, if you read the tips you already now my favorite ammo is dirt, just how dirty it may seem is practically everywhere , and the benefit of doing this is :
1 free ammo dont need to build anything
and 2 your aerating your lawn ,sounds good right? < might take awhile..

i have no pictures sadly, mainly cause my batteries are charging, i really need a 15 min charger...

but ill post em once i have some good ones, this is how i do it

Dirt method:
1 hit barrel into the groud wiggle it more to make sure you dont have less than 1.5cm of dirt
2 use a round object slightly smaller than your barrel and does not have any holes, then push it down to about 1 cm away from the bottom of the barrel { you can do the math}
3 once done loading which takes about 40 seconds for me just start pumping (or use a air compressor) to 20-80 psi depending on bottle
4 just aim and hit the trigger if your good you can load/shoot in about 1.5 mins and still have about 50 psi , bigger bottle requires more pumping

Dart method:
1 load one dart nail facing out (duh! ) and make sure it has something to capture the moving air such as a paper cone taped to the back of the nail, makes good ammo
2 follow step 2-4 in the dirt method

Nerf dart method:
the same as above
