Introduction: How to Make a BR55 Battle Rifle (Halo 3)

About: i am an aspiring prop maker and keen sci-fi fan. i found this site a few years back and i did not know i'd ever love it this much! i'm mostly into Assassin's Creed cosply and Star Wars Cosplay.
NOTE: THIS TUTORIAL IS BASED FORM DUCT TAPE MASTER'S INSTRUCTABLE SO HE TAKES ALL THE CREDIT FOR THIS. (MINUS THE BIT ABOUT ADDING TEXTURES TO THE RIFLE)

here i will show you how to make a BR55 Battle Rifle from nothing more than cardboard, 2 types of duct tape and a copper pipe.

Step 1: Step 1: Draw Out the Battle Rifle's Template.

draw out two templates of the battle rifle on a large sheet of cardboard.
at least make sure the board is 5 feet long so you have enough room to draw the two templates.
DO NOT draw the rails on the template as it is a pain in the ass to cut out right.
do them seperately and make the rails 2 inches wide for strength.
your templates should be like this

Step 2: Step 2: Rails and Scope

make the rails 3 inches wide and the length is from the ammo counter to the front of the rifle.
make two of the same and stick a 2 inch strip between them to hold them.

the scope can be made by a cardboard tube.
take a look at the Battle Rifle's Scope and cut the tube into the shape. duct tape it black and the middle silver duct tape.
now put that to one side while you start making the templates 3 dimensional

Step 3: Step 3: 3Difying

cut out 4 inch strips of ardboard and begin fixing them to the battle rifle.
after an hour of doing that, it should come out like this.
the video will show some tweaks you can make to the rifle.

Step 4: Step 4: Textures

now all of that is done.
begin the textures by the triangular details on the rifle. make them with cardboard triangles.
now the angled area under the rails.
make that in one large piece and then tape that on with black duct tape, outline it by smoothing the duct tape around the edge.
the barrrels can be made by cutting along a line in a cardboard tube and then shrinking the width by rolling it around your finger then taping  it together with black duct tape.
both barrels can be made this way.

Step 5: 5: Finishing Off.

for finishing off.
just add some last smaller details and then you should be done.
