Intro: How to Make a Transformer Costume

this is how to make a transformer optimis prime costume out of boxes.By the way this my first instructable.

STEP 1: Supplies

tape(to make sure the costume is extra sturdy)
very sharp and strong knife and scissors
spray or canned paint(youl probaly need alot of paint)
of corse boxes
an auto bot stencil(you can print one on the computer)

STEP 2: Types of Boxes

you will need one medium box or if needed a big one but i doubt it medium seems small but actually is perfect size(this costume is not recomended if your very short)
youl also need 2 capri sun boxes
and probally about 2 any size spare boxes if you mess up

STEP 3: How to Make the Body

the first cuts you should make ar up the middle on the two long and skinny sides so you can fold the box.Next make a hole at the top of the box for you head.Next in case you didnt allready do this fold out the tabs on the bottom so you can put on the box.Next make 2 holes on the sides for your arms.Last put duct tape all along the middle of the top for more sturdyness.

STEP 4: Making the Arms Legs and Shoulders

for the arms just cut the long tabs off the spare boxes.For the legs just fold out the tabs of the caprisun boxes and slip them on (if the legs slip down put a pir of thick long socks that go up to you knees or put an extra pair of pants on.The shoulder pieces are optional but make the costume look better to make them cut the small tabs off the spare boxes.
PS:to put the arm and shoulder pieces on use velcroe or tape.

STEP 5: Exaust Pipes

To make the pipes just cut pieces of cardboard out of the spare boxes in the shape of the ones in the picture.I suggest not to play with the pipes they bend easily like mine did wich you will see wat i mean in another picture at the end.If you make the shoulder pieces i recamend you tape the pipes to them if not tape them to the body like mine.

STEP 6: Painting/the End

Its common sense on how to paint the costume its pretty much like the very first optimis prime.To do the autobot simble just search autobot simble stencil or picture then print it then with a very very sharp knife cut it out and trace it with paint or just glue the paper. if you have any questions email me at chewy2634@gmail.com please leave comments.

I think it is a cool costume! My little boy loves Transformers, and I think this would be fun to try to make. It would be neat if you had step by step pictures of you transforming, so I could see exactly how you did it - I am a visual learner :) You could also use a wrapping paper roll for the exhaust pipe. TFS!

thank you very much.im sorry for not putting enough pictures but at the time of the pictures it was holloween and i diddnt even think i was going to make a instructable of the costume.when i make another costume ill use your tip and take more pitures.

Fail. This costume is nothing special and you are definitely not the first to try.
