Introduction: IPod Bed Stand
movies and videos in bed on your iPod can get annoying. Aching arms, awkward positions, rotating screens. Well now all of that hassle is gone!
This bed stand holds the iPod touch 5th gen but will also hold all other iPod touch models and the iPhone 5 (the 4/4S is too thick). The iPod is held at a 45 degree angle about a foot from your face, which I found to be perfect viewing distance for me. It is held onto the backboard of the bed by 2 pieces of wood which fit snuggly onto it. (See picture 3)
The arm is supported with 2 support beams which have the actual holder itself on the end. The holder has two rails which hold the iPod in place. These rails had to be accurate as I wanted minimal coverage of the screen, so each rail goes over the edge of the iPod by a mere 1mm. (See pictures 4 & 5)
Please note: I had to record this with my iPod as I currently have no working cameras so at the moment no pictures with the iPod in the stand can be taken. I will try to get a new camera soon.
Here is a video showing more views and angles of the stand:
