Introduction: 1-2-3 Apple Pie

About: Architect, graphic designer, likes arts and crafts-person

This is an amazingly quick recipe, using a wonderful (if fattening) thing called malawach. Malawach is kind of like a circle of puff pastry dough, although it doesn't puff up as high. It is tasty and defrosts quickly, I just take one out of the freezer, place it above a small round pan. wait 10 minutes and I have a pie base! This is also a cute way to make a bunch of mini-quiches btw.

The way I make them the pies aren't very sweet, because I like it that way. You can add more sugar and even put powdered sugar on the top if you want.

Ingredients:

- 2 malawachs per pan

- Apples

- Cinnamon

- Brown sugar

Directions:

1. Take out one malawach and fit in round pan. Once it defrosts you can just push it down where you want it.

2. Slice apples and toss with cinnamon and sugar.

3. Arrange apples in pan and put another malawach on top. When the top is defrosted make slits in top.

4. bake at 175C (350F) for about 30-40 minutes, until browned and puffy.

Enjoy!
