CANDLES ARE AMAZING!!!
In this instructable, I'm going to tell you how to use leftover candle wax to do some pretty crazy stuff.
1) Unstick Your Zipper.
I don't know about you, but this happens to me all the time. And I've tried all sorts of things to fix my broken zippers, bu this actually works! Just rub the candle wax on the stuck zipper teeth before you unzip it.
2) Fix the end of a shoelace.
Plastic fall off the end of your shoelace? Before it frays, dip the end in melted candle wax.
3) Candle stub pincushion.
This is a two in one! Not only can you use the candle as a pincushion for your needles, but the wax will also help your needles to go through fabric easier!
4) Upgrade your snowshovel (or any shovel, for that matter.)
Don't ask me how I figured this one out, but if you rub candle wax on your snowshovel the snow slips off easier and doesn't stick.
5) Onion fume absorber.
I know this sounds crazy, but if you light a candle next to where your cutting onions, the flames will absorb some of the fumes that cause tears! No more crying!
6) Waterproof your address labels.
Rub white candle wax on your address labels and hand-writtten notes so they won't smudge.
7) Eliminate door squeaks.
Works better than oil! Remove the door from it's hinges and rub the hinges with wax. (And put the door back on.)
8) Make your drawers open smoother.
Rub wax on the drawers runners to make it open smoothly.
9) Write a secret message.
Simple and non-toxic for budding young spies! Using white candle wax on paper, write a message. To reveal the message, paint over with watercolor.
10) Caulk your windows!
This is a great fast, cheap, temporary fix. Just put wax where your would caulk to seal cracks and openings.
11) Fix furniture dents.
Just fill a dent with white candle wax, then go over it with a furniture marker. No one will ever know the difference!
