I want to make the best instructable about the 2n2055 flyback driver.

Step 1: The One With 1 Transistor

The transistors must mach with the driver
the transistor that works well are :
BU208
SDT9025
J6810
S2000N
BU808DFI is a Darlington pair and it is to powerful for this driver

The resistors could be one 22ohms and the other 270 ohm (my point is that they shouldn't be so exact)

Step 2: Results

at 24v, 3amps with BU208
at 12v it is not so good

Step 3: The One With 2 Transistors

I put it on 8 amps at 12 volts and just a little spark appeared so the results are good only if you have a high amperage source. It works with the same transistors above.

I want to take a moment to say thank you. There are many ways to build flyback drivers, but even though some of newer designs may seem more stable or effective, the 2n3055 with 2 resistors, is by far one of the more simple designs. When a person who has little experience in the world of projects, the information they find is critical. Building that particular driver is not only easy to do, it teaches them the concept working principle behind what they are building.
Kudos..you have probably given many people the motivation to become one of us, the few, the proud, the socially misunderstood...the nerds. Lol

Hi thanks for the instructable i tried it was awesome i got 2.3cm sparks
but it also gave off a weird smell i thought the transistor burned off
but it didnt after research i found out it was OZONE. Is the ozone
    produced by this circuit dangeros

This may be an interesting project, but there is so little detail that I cannot tell. Could you expand a bit? Could you tell why anyone would want a flyback driver? ( just one example )

there are many thing that you can do with a flyback transformer:
you can light up a ccfl
you can make a plasma globehttps://www.instructables.com/id/Maker-your-own-Lightning-Globe!/
or just have fun with high voltage
