Step 1: Gathering Materials

1. Printer Paper or Card stock Paper

2. Toilet Paper Tubes

3. Marking Tools

4. Glue

5. Scissors

6. Ruler

7. Pencil

8. Stick (from outside)

9. Floral Wire and Tape (Optional)

Step 2: Preparing Items

The second thing to do is to gather all of your materials and start prepping them to be assembled. You will need to grab your cardstock or printer paper and cut them into 6 strips, measuring 8 inches long by 1 inch wide strips. I ended up using 12 strips because I wanted my pumpkin to look more full. The best way to do this is to mark out your measurements lightly with a pencil, then create a straight line connecting them with your ruler. Then you can cut them out. After they are all cut out, we need to cut a piece of paper to fit around our toilet paper tube. This piece of paper measures 4 inches by 6 inches. Now you would want to take your toilet paper tube and set it on its top to trace a circle onto your paper that will fit over your toilet paper tube and then cut it out. At this point in time, you should have 6 strips of paper (or 12), 1 rectangle piece of paper, and a circular piece as well.

Step 3: Decorate Paper Pieces

All of these pieces can now be decorated however you wish. I decorated some of mine orange and some with polka dots. After that step, we are now going to assemble our pumpkin. Start off by folding over a small tab on the top and bottoms of your 5 strips, these should be no bigger than 1/8th of an inch.

Step 4: Assemble Pumpkin

Now it is time to glue on our parts, start with the rectangle piece of paper and glue it onto your toilet paper tube. Next, we want to glue on all of our paper strips all along the rim of our toilet paper tube, using the folded tabs to fold inside the tube. Make sure to hold your finger onto the paper until it is completely dry. Repeat this step all along the outside of the toilet paper tube until you are out of strips and your pumpkin is full. Now it is time to add the top, pick the best looking side of your pumpkin and add the paper circle on top, again making sure to hold it there until the glue is dried. Now take your pencil and poke a small hole on top of the paper you just glued. Now you can push your stick through that hole to make it look like a stem. If you chose to use floral wire and tape all you need to do is wrap the tape around the floral wire and twist it around the pencil until you have the length you want. Then you can stick it into the top of the paper circle next to the stick. If your tendril and stem seem to be wiggling around or doesn’t stay straight you might want to add a little bit of glue to stiffen them up.

Step 5: Finished Product

Your finished product should look similar to the pictures above.

Step 6: Decorating With Your Paper Pumpkins!

All that is left now is to decorate with them, add the pumpkins around the area you are decorating, maybe add a few fall leaves around them or place them by themselves. They can also be used as a centerpiece on a table, on mantles, or shelves. Decorate where ever suits you and your decorating space.
