9v Battery LED Flashlight(No Solder Needed)

I will show you how to make a 9v battery flashlight. This is a list of things you will need:
1x LED (Any color. I used yellow.)
1x resistor
1x switch or button
1x 9v battery

The first thing that you will do once you have all of the materials is: bend the LEDs leads so it touches the switch and the positive contact on the battery. If you're not very experienced with electronics the longer lead on the LED is the positive lead.

Step 1: LED and Resistor Line Up

Not everybody's LEDs and resistors are the same (obviously) so you could use this handy-dandy site  http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz .
I used a 62 ohm resistor for a 2.4v LED but the battery was only at about 6.5v.  

Step 2: Gluing and Building the Circut

Just a reminder to all of you guys be careful when gluing because it will HURT if you get burnt.  And as you can see I am OBVIOUSLY an expert at using paint... yup. Hot glue the LED on the top left side of the battery but don't glue it on the diode itself.  Glue the resistor in the middle so its touching the negative on the battery and one part of the switch. Hot glue the switch on the right side of the battery.
Just to point out the side of the battery that you should be putting the LED and switch on should have negative on the right side and positive on the left side. 

Step 3: All Done!

    A 9 volt battery is usually a poor choice for the powering of 1 led since the voltage needed by the led is about 3 volts you need to drop 6 volts and waste 2/3 the power. Use 2 leds in series and get twice the light for the same battery life. Or use a battery holder with 3 AA or AAA batteries. Of course you have to recalculate the series resistor.

    Thanks 4 letting me know that u hot glued everything. That helps a lot. & the night lite thing is a good ideal. Think I will make one 4 my Grandmother to help her see in the dark to go to the restroom. Thanks for getting back with me so quick.

    This isn't a very good instructable. You needed to show what to solder, what part to what. Explain a little better for the newbies in the world. Also what size of resistor u used would be helpful also. I know how to read a resistor, but there is a lot of people who don't. Just saying u could of spent a little more time on the instructions. I think it's a cool 9v flashlight. And I want to made one. But I need a little more information.
    Its still a cool little flashlight.

    Thank you for your comment. I used a 1k ohm resistor for my 2.4v LED well, the battery was at about 6.5v I tested with my voltage meter.
    I used this site http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz to find the right resistor it is actually in the instructable. I actually didn't solder any thing. All I did was hot glue it and where I hot glued it on the LED was close to the LED itself you know, the part that gives out light. I hot glued the middle of the resistor in place so it touched one part of the switch and the negative on the battery. And if you want, you could duct tape it to the
    inside of a yogurt cup or a glass or plastic jar and make it a lantern or
    night light.

    Oh, oops I didn't use a 1k ohm resistor getting confused with other projects.
