Low-to-no budget for Valentine's Day this year? With just a little time, you can make a gift that shows her/him you truly care! For those of you who don't know, Google Maps has a feature that enables you to make a custom map in just a few easy steps. Using this feature, one can create an 'e-scrapbook'-type map of locations related to your relationship that only matters to you!

Step 1: Google Maps

For those of you who don't know, Google Maps has a feature that enables you to make a custom map in just a few easy steps!

Step 2: Sign in / Register

First, go to Google Maps and Sign in if you have an account, otherwise go here to create one. Google accounts are free and give you access to a very extensive tool-set!

Step 3: Making Your First Map

Click 'My Places', and then 'Create Map'.

Step 4: Naming and Getting Started

Enter your title, and description. Add placemarks following provided instructions!

Step 5: Finish

Save and share with your loved one!
Want to physically give it as a gift?
Copy the url into a QR code generator, then print out and wrap in a box!

    This is a fantastic idea, thank you. I think in order to make people understand the possibilities, it would be nice to have some close screen-shots of example 'scrapbooky' type posts.

    I'm not sure what you mean by that, if you have access to a computer the only cost of this project is the time you are willing to put into it, and the cost to print one sheet of paper if you choose to gift it as a QR code.
