AP4 K`nex Gun by Oblivitus

About: I paint, write music, and used to build knex guns. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art. - updated 5/7/2014

K'nex Gun Name: AP4 (Assault Pistol 4)

Description: This is a small, sturdy k'nex gun that works flawlessly. This instructable will show you how to make the AP3, the AP4 mods are on step 7.

Influences: I designed the entire gun except for the back handle, which I took from Killerk's Magnum and then I modified it.

Power: 3/10
Accuracy: 6/10
Rate of Fire: 7/10 (cock and fire)

Size: 7"(inches)x11"(inches)
Capacity: 9 rounds (6 when attaching pre-loaded clip)

Features: AP1:Realistic Trigger, AP2:Detachable Clip, AP3:"Iron" Sights, AP4:Safety

1: AP4
2: AP3
3: AP2
4: AP1

You can build the AP1, 2, 3, or 4 depending on how many parts you wish to use. NOTE: THE AP4 PICTURES ARE ON STEP 7.

Step 1: Pictures of the Magazine

1: Right
2: Front
3: Feeder Detached
4: Ammo

This magazine holds 9 rounds. (6 when detached, see step 6)

Step 2: Pictures of the Back Handle

1: Left

This is the only part of the gun I took from someone else.

Step 3: Pictures of the Barrel

1: Front Of The AP2
2: The Support Rail With Iron Sights

BTW: Use duct tape at the back of the firing rod.

Step 4: Pictures of the Trigger

1: The Trigger

You will need to use some sort of strong glue at the top of the trigger piece connecting the orange 180 degree connector with the tiny black, special connector.

Step 5: Loading/Cocking/Firing

1: Pull the elastics off of the clip feeder.
2: Pull out the clip feeder and fill the clip with gray one slot, one k`nex rod hole, connectors.
3: Replace the feeder and then the elastic bands.
4: Hold on to the top of the clip with thumb pressed on the second blue rod from the front, on the top supports.
5: Pull back the firing rod pull.
6: Press the trigger while gripping the clip with other hand.

Remember that if you fire while there are no rounds remaining in the barrel, the top of the feeder will break because it will get hit with the firing rod.

Step 6: The Detachable Mag

1: Add a few layers of scotch tape to a short (3rd smallest size) blue connector.
2: Put in the side of the mag near its top.
3: Fill mag with 6 rounds
4/5: Pop the back, then the front of the empty mag out of the gun.
6/7: Pop the back, then the front of the full mag into the gun.
8: Pull taped rod out.

You are now fully reloaded!

Step 7: The AP4

1: Left
2: Right
3: Top
4: Bottom
5: Left Side Of Mag
6: Front Side Of Mag
7: Safety
8: Trigger

Step 8: Need Help?

It's pretty simple, it's KILLERK's handle, and plus you can make the bottom however you like.

I hate that when people can only make it from what you have presented to them, and they can't just make something on their own if they can't see the right pieces for something simple like... "I can't make the barrel because at the front I can't see if it's a yellow or an orange connector."

Yep, every gun I make from this site looks like a mod of the original before I even start messing with it, lol.

I modded the handle for the TBAP and the trigger, and it looks different, the rest looks the same, maybe other ppls mods are internal...

Lol, I don't care anymore, the AP4 is crap, I only kept this instructable to prove that I was the first one to make a pin pull magazine and safety.

I made it thicker to make the outside pieces lock in place instead of only the middle pieces being connected, allowing for more flexibility, the way it was in the AP3.
