The idea of our project is to achieve a smart garden system that monitors and tracks environmental conditions, trying to help our plants thrive.
This project allows us to know what’s happening in our garden all the time. This system is there to let technology taking care of our plants. The moisture level of the plant will be monitored by a moisture sensor.
The embedded application displays this data as a real-time snapshot of our garden, and gives alerts and suggestions to maximize plant health. We will use also a small water pump, by using the data collected by the sensor to smartly control your existing watering system, watering your plants only when needed. We also planned to add a brightness sensor to control the intensity of the light at what should be exposed the plant.
With advanced tracking technology, this system allows us to be always connected to our garden or farm so we can grow healthier plants.
In this project we have planned to use:
1- chipKIT WF32 platform, first of all, to collect physical parameters of the plant (ambient temperature, soil moisture, the soil Temperature, the light intensity, ...) and thereafter, to control the irrigation valve and light intensity.
2- Zybo platform combined with PmodWiFi, to centralize and to control all physical parameters from plant.
