Aluminum Can Kitchen Planter




Reuse an aluminum can to create a planter for your kitchen garden.

Step 1: Materials: Aluminum Can; Can Opener; Soil; Plant

Gather your materials.

Step 2: Cut the Top of the Aluminum Can

Use the can opener to cut off the lid of the aluminum can, just as you would any canned food.

Step 3: Punch a Hole in the Bottom

Punch a whole in the bottom of the can with a knife to let the water drain.

Step 4: Plant

Choose the kitchen herb you want, add soil, add plant.

    I never knew that a can opener could cut the top of the soda can so clean and smoot. That's awesome! I'll def be making some of these planters

    I was totally shocked as well. I even use these as party cups. They keep your drink soooo cold. And ice cream, forget about it, the outside of the can gets covered in frost when you put ice cream in them :)

    I thought about that. Once you take the cans off the original holder, they want to fall out if you put them back in. Maybe something hacked from zip ties? That's where my mind is going with it.

    It'd be interesting to put a sixpack of these could probably carry them around pretty conveniently.
