Here is a simple 10 step process on how to do a basic facial at home with your friends or even at a party!
Step 1: Products You Will Need
To Begin your facial you will need:
1. A medium bowl of warm water
2. 1 facial cleansing cloth
3. A facial cleanser * If you are working with another person be sure to use a cleanser that fits their skin type!
4. Clay based facial mask
5. Your favorite toner or astringent
6. Two cotton rounds
7. Face Moisturizer
8. Sun protection lotion
Step 2: Prep
Fill a medium sized bowl with warm water
Add your facial cleansing cloth to the bowl. You will be using this cloth several times throughout the facial.
Step 4: Cleansing
Apply a dime sized amount of your favorite cleanser in the palm of your hand. * If you are working with another person be sure to use a cleanser that fits their skin type!
Starting at the base of your neck massage cleanser into skin using upward motions and AVOIDING THE EYE AREA. If the cleanser becomes stiff dip your hands into the bowl of warm water and continue to massage.
Step 6: Removing the Cleanser
Gently remove the cleanser off the face using your facial cleansing cloth. This step can be repeated as often as needed. * Your water may have a murky color from the cleanser feel free refill your bowl with fresh warm water.
Step 7: Mask
Apply a thin layer of the mask all over your face avoiding the eye area. Let the mask sit on your skin for 5-10 minutes before removing.
Step 8: Toner
Now that you have the mask removed you can apply the toner to your skin. Toner restores the pH balance back into the skin that the cleanser and mask removes. This is an important step and should not be skipped.
Saturate your cotton rounds with the toner and brush it on the skin using upward motions.
Step 10: Moisturize and Protect
Once you've finished applying the toner, let your face dry 60 seconds before applying your moisturizer. Apply the moisturizer all over your face including your neck, after the moisturizer has been applied use a small amount of sun protection over it. And You're done!
