Introduction: Awesome Nazgul Gauntlet

Hello everyone!!!!

I've been working with cardboard since before I was 5 years old, and as I've gotten better, I've been exposed to new, better materials, such as EVA foam. Now seeing as this is my first instructable, I would like to use my very first material: card board!

I hope you like it!

Step 1: First Things First

SAFETY! I can not be held responsible for any injuries you or anyone suffered because of this project( unless I actively came and sliced your finger off).
Allright, let's get to materials:
Scissors
Exacto knife (optional)
Duct tape
Brass fasteners, Velcro, or buckles(brass fasteners are the best for this build)
Thin cardboard (not corrugated)
Duct tape(don't worry, it won't show)
Hot glue gun
Spray paints: I used black and silver

Step 2: Patterning

Alright, so it's time to get patterning!

Start off with two pieces of paper, mark the various details you want to put on to the gauntlet. For this build I made it simple, just a tiered elbow ending.

Then move on to the bottom of your forearm. Details aren't important here, but you can add some detailing onto the bottom if you want. MAKE SURE that the bottom piece comes well under the forearm

Step 3: Cutting

Cutting time!

Take the patterns you made and trace them on a sheet of cardboard then cut them out.

To add the tiering effect, make slits along the inside of the top piece from each of the points near the elbow to the wrist

Step 4: Assembling the Forearm

Make three holes in the top forearm and bottom that all land on each other when put together.

Then add the brass fasteners to each of the holes and secure them to the inside

Then wrap the gauntlet tightly around your wrist/forearm and put Velcro on the place where it feels tight. If there is any excess cardboard hanging from the top piece, DON'T CUT IT OFF!! Attach a smaller piece of Velcro to the very end of the overhang.

Step 5: Making the Hand Guard

Time to build the hand guard,

Start off with a piece of cardboard, and cut it with the same tiering pattern that we used for the top forearm piece. Repeat this part four or five times times.

Then link the pieces together with brads(brass fasteners)

Then build a strap that comes across the bottom if the hand guard

Step 6: FINAL STEP, the Fingers

Cut out the shape on the first picture enough times that it will fit on earth finger when bent. Then tape them together on the under side. Then make cardboard rings and install them on the bottom of your finger pieces(this is where the hot glue comes in handy.) this is the longest and hardest step.

For painting(I didn't have time to do painting on this tutorial) do a flat coat of black then distress it with silver, then go along all the edges with silver on a plastic bag.
Then finally, you are done!!!

Step 7: My First Instructable

Seeing as this is my first instructable, I really would love to hear what you think. Questions/comments/suggestions? Post them in the comments or email me at wildabeast90@gmail.com
