Step 1: INGREDIENTS

1 EGG

3 CUPS OATMEAL - QUICK COOK VARIETY

1/2 CUP VEGETABLE OIL

3/4 CUP SUGAR

3/4 TABLESPOON BAKING POWDER

1/2 TEASPOON SALT

1 - 1 1/4 CUPS OF MILK

Step 2: PREPARATION

Combine the oil and the sugar together.

Step 3: MIXING

Then add the egg to the mix.

Step 4: REMAINING INGREDIENTS

Add the remaining ingredients. Slowly add the milk until the batter has a consistency of a runny cake batter. Then pour it into your dutch oven. For this I used a 10 inch dutch oven.

Step 5: BAKING

Bake the oatmeal at 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes. You want the Baked Oatmeal to be firm and golden brown. To do this with a 10 inch dutch oven, I placed 7 charcoal briskets on the bottom and 14 on top of the dutch oven. (If you want to do this at home, bake in a 9X9 inch greased cake pan).

Step 6: FINAL RESULTS

Let it cool or eat it warm. The classic camp way is to eat it with raisins and brown sugar. Other ways to enjoy this are with a little milk or top it with fruit. My family prefers to pour maple syrup on it.

Step 7: THANK YOU!

Thank you for reading my Instructable. I hope you enjoy the Baked Oatmeal.

Thank you.
