BICYCLE ROOF RACK

About: Professionally I have been a summer camp counselor, a Draftsman/designer, salesperson, bicycle mechanic, laminate flooring machine mechanic, teacher, and designer of the OP Loftbed. Personally I am a human...

In this video I will show you the bicycle roof rack that I made to transport my xtracycle on top of a 1998 Subaru Outback. I have left out dimensions as this is intended to be a guide to give you some ideas to make your own roof rack custom fit for your bicycle and car, truck, van, bus, whatever. The wood is standard 2x6 and 2x4. I used #8 x 2" wood screws and wood glue to fix the pieces together.

As always, Thanks for looking and Enjoy.

Very well done and inspirational. I really like the mechanics of notching the wood so there will be no shimmy-ing.

Thanks. I was thinking of making it out of PVC or metal, but wood was easier for me.

Thanks, At first I was wanting some type of clamp, but everything I thought of was too complicated. The simple solution turned out the best.
