I serve this delicious dip at both Christmas parties and summer parties because of the wonderful colors the lettuce and tomatoes present.
Ingredients
1 cup sour cream with chive and onion
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 cup crumbled cooked bacon
1 tsp of onion powder
1/3 cup chopped scallions
1 1/2 cup romaine lettuce shredded
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1 French baguette

Directions:
Mix together the first five ingredients. Place the lettuce on a plate, then the tomatoes, and last the dip.  Cut the baguette into small pieces and place around the edge of the plate.

About this recipe:

Back in the 1990's when I was in the high competitive end of making and selling my crafts and quilts across the US, (This was long before I shared my ideas with the world on this website. This was when I had to keep coming up with more and more creative ideas for each craft show, because if I didn't the crafter next to me or across from me would have my creation.) I would ask my friends to host a home show and invite all their friends to it. Then my friends would get to pick items they wanted from how many sales they had. My friends were in charge of opening their home, inviting their friends and family and supplying some type of appetizers or desserts. One of my friends Sharon hosted a show in her beautiful new home and this is where I found this recipe that her sister Cindy makes. It's a favorite with their family gatherings, and now it's one of ours too.

I hope you enjoy this recipe,
