Intro: Bag Bottom Box
My favorite thing about being a crafter is rethinking everyday things and my favorite everyday thing is the paper bag. This reusable humble holder is everywhere. It comes in all shapes, colors, and sizes. It can be recycled, cut, torn, embossed, written on. and hoarded. There are a zillion things you can do with a paper bag. This is one of them. We will be using the bottom of two bags to make a cool box perfect for gift giving.
Step 1: Gather Materials
Here's what you'll need
- Creasing tool
- 2 paper bags the same size
- Optional cardstock strips
- Optional items for decorating
Step 2: Trim
Cut away the sides of the bag just above the bottom flap.
Step 3: Tidy
Inspect the bottom of the bag. Glue down unsecured paper if needed.
Step 4: Decorate
If desired, decorate by embossing, stamping, drawing, coloring (you get the idea).
Step 5: Fold
- Fold the bag flap back and forth and give it a good crease
- Open the bag
- Fold in sides
- Crease well
Optional: If you're an overachiever (and I know you are), line the sides with some cardstock cut to fit before folding. You can also add glue to the sides to strengthen and secure.
Step 6: Admire Your Work
You now have a lid and bottom box. The two go together nicely don't you think? Before you marry the two, tidy once again by giving each fold a good crease. You did a great job!
Step 7: Make Someone Happy
Put something yummy inside, add a bow, and give to someone unappreciated.
